Proform GR80 Reviewed

The proform GR80 stationary bike is a recumbent bike that is designed for the user with a budget.  It is not the most solid model on the market, nor does it come with a lot of features.  Basically besides the four programs workouts, the built-in fan, a heart rate monitor, and silent digital magnetic resistance, there isn't much to write home about this model, relating to features.  Of course, the best feature of the proform GR80 is its price -- which usually retails under $250.

Is it worth the money?  that is what we'll discuss in this article.

When the GR80 first arrived in my doorstep, I immediately opened it and began to assemble it.  Instantly I was pleased -- this is one of the easiest to assemble pieces of exercise equipment I have ever purchased.  Also, I found it to be a slender model that didn't take up quite as much room as I had estimated it would.

After putting it together, I hopped on the bike and began testing it to see how loud it was.  It was extremely quiet.  I turned on the fan to see how much noise it would generate.  Even with the fan on, it was still a very silent machine.  So far I was impressed.

After checking out the noise, my next area of concern was comfort.  After riding the bike for 20 minutes, I found that the seat was reasonably comfortable.  I've been on more comfortable bike, but never in this price range.  So as far as comfort goes, let's say I wasn't dissatisfied.

Next, I decided to test how easy it was to multitask with the GR80.  I am a person who likes to read books while I use an exercise bike.  Usually I found that the lower models do not come equipped with an area to place a book on them.  In most cases you will have to purchase separate equipment for this.

The GR80 is designed so that the bottom of the display panel has just enough room for you to place a book on, provided that the book isn't too bulky.  This was an added surprise that I had not expected.

Finally, even though the GR80 is inexpensive, it doesn't look like it.  While this is probably not a concern for a lot of people, when you place it in your home it will not make you look like a cheapskate.

I would recommend the GR80 wholeheartedly!!!
